In this episode you will find out how we did our visas for china as well as a trick to get around needing confirmation of where you’re staying. I hope you enjoy the podcast.

I would like to thank all those who sent messages, for those I didn’t get to Ill keep them around for next time. I briefly talk about my photography in the episode below is a list of the camera gear I typically carry when I travel.

1) Karl Shakur (@karl_shakur)
Pair of vans
Board shorts
2) Sebastian (@sebsummit)
Smartphone - Incredible useful, wherever I go i try to get a local sim, since I book hotels/airbnb or couch surfing stays last minute I need a good and constant connection. It helps to navigate. Find spots to eat and get in touch with locals (via IG I get a ton of recommendations where to go, what to see and where to meet) Besides that apps like google translate, uber ect save me more than once. Taking pictures fast when not having the huge camera ready and so on. Honestly I would struggle not having it with me on a trip since I’m not taking any other device like an ipad or a laptop so all the research and travel organization is done on the phone.
My Little shoulder Bag. - Which is a bit ugly but extremely handy. I keep my most important items close to me (passport, Smartphone, Credit cards, money) and depends where i am i can hide it.
The Watermelon - it's a gift from a good friend and it reminds me of how fragile life is. Ibe been together with my ex girlfriend for more than 11 years before we broke up on our big trip around the world after a year. Since then i travel the world alone and the melon makes a good photo item. An eyecatcher if you want. But even better is that its a conversation starter where ever i take it. A pillow and a mattress on hard floors if there is no good place to rest and most important as mentioned at the beginning it helps me remind myself that i can’t take all the good things I’ve experienced for granted.. Even the best things in life can end with in a heartbeat and with no warning.it might have become my USP for pictures here on IG but for me it means so much more and caring this huge inflatable around when you travels uper light (always just a small trolly (Cabin size bag) and a small day pack shows how serious i take this.

6 Minute Journal - I fill it out in the morning and evening and I guess it makes you more mindful and Grateful. It makes you see the positives in your day and then helps with personal growth through daily reflections. Also makes me much more productive.
7) Heather Sorrenty (@Livefreeortour)

10) Kyle Henderson (@Kyle.Henderson.Photography)
T- Mobile
An Amex Card
Travel toothbrush/toothpaste
Wrist watch set to mountain time so i always know what time it is where my family is
An irish 1990 Erie Punt Coin given to me by my fiance for good luck
Leather bound notebook w pencil tucked in it to write down whatever crazy idea pops in my mind
12) Jeremy John (@jeremyJ0hn)
Grayl water filter - its compact, fast and filter bacteria, viruses and heavy metals. I’m definitely Plastic conscious and although this filter is made of plastic, your saving so much on the long run. It's great to take water straight from the earth and be confident you'll not get sick.
Good Boxers - Icebreacker’s, they're expensive but really the best clothing product I’ve ever bought. However much i sweat they never feel wet and never smell. I own 4 pairs for a cycling trip this is a must.
Juggling Balls - a luxury item, yes but they are small and can be squashed in my bag. I’m a big Procrastinator and i have a go on these every time i'm waiting for transport or anything it is good to keep your hand eye coordination in check and they're great to break the ice with local kids while traveling through remote villages and such. Throwing and catching is a universal game that kids enjoy.
13) Kevin Perry (@Ventureforthphoto)
A Steripen Water Purifier - Im often traveling to places that are remote enough that you can’t count on bottled water
A USB charging hub with 8 slots - Im often Staying in places where I will be lucky if there is one working power outlet. The hub allows me to charge all my gear.
A Money Belt - that fits down the front of my pants. I use one that is meant to hang around your neck, but instead i wear it around my waist and tucked into the front of my pants. That way its in contact with a part of my body i will always be aware of any tampering. (Passport and monday need to be in plastic to ward off sweat)
Small bag to travel light (Osprey Porter)
14) Brian Stowell (@brianstowell)
Field Notes Notebook - aside from my wallet, passport, and camera there is one essential i am almost never without - a worn 3.5 x5.5” green field notes notebook. I’ve been carrying the same notebook in my backpack or pocket for coming on 4 years now. Its where I collect the national park service passport cancellation stamps. The best, easiest free souvenir you can bring home from on of the NPS 418 units
A bandana - Be prepared. You don’t want to sneeze on a plane and be caught without one. Also wipes sweat, is a napkin, makeshift dust mask for desert wandering.could be a tourniquet, soak it in an alpine lake and wear it on your head for evaporative cooling, cleans your car when you spill coffee everywhere is environmentally friendly and infinitely reusable.
Coffee Kit - after too many trips relying on instant or gas stations coffee, I just want to carry good coffee now. At its most compact it’s an aeropress with a baggie of pre ground beans. But more often than not im bringing a hand grinder, scale, fresh beans , and sometimes even a ceramic mug.

Episode 25 - What do you pack?
So first I would like to start off by saying this podcast is what I do sometimes and it’s not something you have to live by. Below you will find a list of the things I talk about that I carry with me. It will be broken up in sections much like in the podcast.
This is my home - The North Face Base Camp Duffle Size Small, Plain Black T-Shirts , Quick Dry Underwear, Socks - I usually try and wear socks with some flare. , Pants - I tend to lean towards plain old fashion levi’s. I rock those cargo shorts like a nerd. Also Swimmers , A Nice Fancy Shirt Some Thermal Undies, Anyone? and they all get stuffed in a Space Saver bag. It gets sweaty when you travel take a bandana or 2. It also get’s cold don’t forget to take a Hat. I keep all of my small things in these Eagle creek bags
Like is mentioned in the podcast toiletries are very personal but a few things you should consider taking is Earplugs and Drowny wrinkle Spray
So as I mentioned I make a emergency travel kit with a Rubbermade cupcake container, Rain Pancho, Emergency Blanket, Needle and thread, Lighters, Bandaids, Medical tape.
My Day Pack is Light weights and packable.
I keep my camera gear in another one of those Eagle Creek Bags. Inside the bag you will find 2 Leica Q Camera Batteries, 1 Leica Battery Charger, 4 (Depending on if i’ve got my computer) 64gb SD cards, A Battery Backup, Headphones (In a pelican 1010), 2 iPhone Chargers, 2 Lighting to 1/8” adaptors.
Sometimes I also carry My Computer and an external Harddrive.

I talk about the nice people at The Local Guesthouse and brew pub in Siem Reap. Theres a quick little stories of visiting one of the driest places on earth, Micro countries (Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City), and our time at the Munduk Molding Plantation. I Love Phants Lodge is an outstanding place to interact with elephants who are being rehabilitated for the wild. I also talk about traveling alone. One thing I don’t discuss this episode that I will link are some of my favorite travel Items.

This is the first edition of something I like to call 10 questions. For the first batch of questions I asked Dea. She let us in on the first and last countries she was in and answered 9 other questions.
Episode 2 - Catching Up with Dea Porter
Dea is probably the first person I knew who had really traveled. It only seemed natural that I have her as my first guest on the show.
